Brian Hales chaired the meeting for the election of office bearers. The following were elected:

4. EDA NATIONAL COMMITTEE REPRESENTATIVE NOMINATION
Sarah expressed an interest subject to discussions with Skana (as current EDASA representative) on what the role entails.
Nomination to be confirmed at the February meeting.
5. MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING AND ACTIONS ARISING
5.1. EDA Financial Statements
Report to be provided at the February meeting
5.2. RDA Adelaide Metro Funding
Report to RDA is with Skana for review. Recognition of RDA support to be provided by letter and acknowledged at the next EDA function.
5.3. Promotional Collateral
Agreed to obtain images relevant to the States 10 economic priorities – Mick to work with Dagmar to source and Matt to follow up with Adelaide City Council regarding TDU promotional material.
Request EDASA database from Naomi (EDA National).

6.1. Membership currently 28. Identify who has renewed and who hasn’t.
7. INDUSTRY DEVELOPMENT
7.1 2016 Review
Overall, the events provided were of a good quality but given the number that were cancelled, need to reconsider the number to be undertaken annually.
7.2. 2017 Program of activity
Identified the need for deeper engagement with membership via such measures as survey of member interest, ‘meet the executive’ function, member value presentation, dual year membership.
One objective is to elevate SA’s meaningful participation in the National Economic Development Conference ie presentations and awards. Consideration to be given to having a State EDA award event as a pathway into the national awards or a joint event with similar organisations such as Planning Institute of Australia.
A second objective is to engage with research institutions to identify research being undertaken (or has been or will be) of relevance to economic development (eg economic value of parks).
Planning for Low Carbon Economy Forum to be held on 23 February complete – focus on promotion.
7.3. Knowledge Bank and Blogging
Executive to consider the forthcoming themes for the next month and cross-feed articles from other sources eg Linked-In.

Mick O’Neill confirmed as member of EDASA executive
