EDA(SA) recently held an event focussing on opportunities in the low carbon economy.
Keynote speakers were Mark Goldstone, CEO of Adelaide City Council, and John O’Brien, Managing Director of Australian CleanTech.
Mark Goldstone spoke of Adelaide City Council’s journey in relation to Carbon Neutral Adelaide and the various elements within it including the greening of Council’s administration centre, programs to reduce carbon emissions from commercial buildings, sustainable transport options, the relationship between smart cities and low carbon technologies.
John O’Brien focussed on emerging opportunities in the ow carbon space, the mainstreaming of what were once considered green programs into a broader technology space and highlighted specific businesses developing innovative products and services.
The questions from the floor were many and varied ranging from the extent to which industries identify themselves as operating in the low carbon economy through to the American political landscape.
